Carib Territory Water Supply Project

Concord Carib TerritoryCarib TerritoryWater Supply Project Residents of the Carib Territory will soon benefit from a $3.5million water project to be completed in two phases.

Phase 1 of the Project is funded under STABEX and involves the following works:

  • Construction of a new distribution line from Gaulette River storage tank to Bataca
  • Improvements to the existing distribution system in the Carib Territory through (i) the installation of pressure reducing valve sets and check valves and (ii) hydraulic and structural improvements to the existing supply line.

Carib Territory Project The Contracts for Supervision and Construction were awarded to Sorrel Consulting Firm and Jars Sales and Services respectively. Projects works have already commenced. The project is administered by the office of the National Authorizing Office to the EDF in collaboration with DOWASCO. Phase II of the Project will be implemented under the Financing Agreement for the Special Framework of Assistance (SFA) 2003.


Activities to be implemented under this phase are as follows:

  • Construction of a new supply line from Crapaud Hall River to Bataca
  • Construction of an intake on the Crapaud Hall River
  • Construction of a distribution system at Concord

The preliminary estimated cost for Phase 1 is $1.25million and Phase II is $2.25M. The improvements to the Carib Territory water supply will result in a more reliable water supply for residents of these communities.
