The Basic Needs Trust fund is providing just over 1.1 million Dollars towards the establishment of a new water supply system for the community of Shawford. Residents of that community had never benefited from a supply of potable water from DOWASCO. BNTF responded to a request from DOWASCO to supply potable water to the community of Shawford. Works include installation of 3” supply network from the supply line to the Trafalgar water tank to the proposed new thirty thousand gallon storage tank as well as the 4” and 2” distribution network to the community of Shawford. Local construction firm F and C Construction won the bid to undertake the project which is expected to be completed by December 2012. Transnational Engineering Consultants was contracted by the Caribbean Development Bank as the Consultants on the project. |
