DOWASCO supplies bulk water to cruise and cargo ships and passenger liners berthing at the various ports of Dominica.The dedicated bulk water terminal in Newtown,has a discharge capacity of 6 million gallons per day. The source of the bulk water is the Fresh Water Lake at the foot of Morne Micotrin in the forest reserves of the National Park.DOWASCO's intake is off the Padu Hydropower Plant turbine outlet.
Bulk water in smaller quantities for cruise and cargo ships and Ferries is available at the Woodbridge Bay Port,Bayfront Terminal and Portsmouth Cruise Ship Berth.
